Adopt-A-Grant

The Forney Education Foundation Grant Committee met last week and chose the grants that will be funded for the 2023-2024 school year. As the members pored over the grant descriptions, they realized how difficult and rewarding this meeting was going to be. The members had studied these grants for over a week and had made notes about them; they were just waiting to confer with each other. Fortunately, the members of this committee take this role very seriously but have the ability to make each other laugh, too.

In years past, there have been many amazing teacherrequested grants presented, and this year was no different. The Foundation understands that the role we play in the District is to look for innovative ideas that enhance the classroom experience and aid the teachers in reaching their students and then lifting them up in their learning experience. It is important that FEF also look at what the district is focusing on for the future of our students, and if there are grants that enhance that classroom experience then they should be considered.
