Judith “Judy” Venner Hendricks

Judith Paige Venner Hendricks (Judy), 81, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister of Poetry, Texas passed away on August 18, 2023, at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas due to complications from a stroke suffered on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Judy was born on April 12,1942 in Forney, Texas. She graduated from Forney High School in 1960 where she was an athlete, scholar as well as a high school beauty.

Soon after graduation she married Jim Hendricks of Terrell, Texas – a marriage that lasted for over 62 years with many happy memories including the birth of two loving sons.

Judy was a long-time employee of the Terrell State Hospital pharmacy. Upon retirement, she followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps by volunteering at the hospital’s monthly rummage sales along with her dear friends Jimbo, Carmella and Tiddle.

Judy loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. The garden that she and Jim meticulously cared for produced a variety of fruits and vegetables. Great meals and canned goods arose from this garden, and Judy will most certainly be remembered for her unmatched cooking skills.

Judy was pre-deceased by her parents, Jack and Glyndon Venner; father-inlaw, Jim Bob Hendricks; mother-in-law and stepfather in-law, Pauline and Dave Brown; brother-in-law, Don Strickland. Survivors include husband, Jim, sons Rob and Dave Hendricks; grandson, Ryan Hendricks; great granddaughter Audrey Hendricks, “Ma’s best friend”; sister- in-law, Linda (Tiddle) Strickland; brother in-law Rick Hendricks (Barbara); brother, Robert Venner (Linda); sisters Melissa Price and Mary Beth Nesmith; many loving nieces and nephews; special son Russ Wallace and special friend Santos.

Honoring Judy’s request there will be no funeral or memorial service. Judy will be remembered for her unselfish love for friends and unwavering love for her family.
