There is a saying that if you plant a tree, you believe in tomorrow. And there is no larger group of people who believe in tomorrow than professional educators. The start of a new school year allows the planting of many types of trees in a district. There are seedlings that represent Pre-K and Kindergarteners– newly sprouted and stretching towards the light of knowledge. Then the elementary students who are growing and branching out in their acquisition of knowledge just like 7 to 10-year-old Live Oaks. Next is the amazing stretch of growth that our intermediate students experience like Willow trees with their rapid growth of canopy and height. Then our Middle School students begin branching out during their pre-teen/teen years like a Sweet Gum tree does with its wonderful star shaped leaves creating a canopy for itself. And finally, our High Schoolers who are spreading their respective “branches” by delving into the career pathways they selected and started as 9th graders as well as the extracurricular activities they participate in representing themselves and Forney ISD.

The opportunity that the Forney Education Foundation receives through the support of the Forney Community as well as the teachers and families in Forney is never taken for granted. We are very aware that our duty is to tend the trees that are planted for the future within our students’ lives. FEF looks at every student in Forney as one of our kids because that is our “why”.

Here is your opportunity to “plant trees” for the future! Visit the Forney Education Foundation website at www.forneyisdfoundation. org and get ready to pick a tree to plant as the window for Adopt-A-Grant will be opening soon! Keep believing in the future!
