As families prepare for a new school year, the Forney Education Foundation rallied the community to offer assistance for those in need of school supplies. In collaboration with dedicated community partners, Project Backpack has provided school supplies and backpacks for over 1,300 qualified students at Forney ISD to date. Each student receives a supply pack with requested items, a backpack and the confidence
they need to be successful in the classroom.
Project Backpack is a heartwarming endeavor that was launched by the First Presbyterian Church of Forney many years ago with the vision of equipping underprivileged students with the tools and resources they need to thrive in their academic journey. Recognizing the significance of education in shaping young minds, the Forney Education Foundation assembled local businesses, organizations, and compassionate individuals to join hands in making a positive impact on the lives of these students.
Project Backpack could not be possible without the support of these generous community partners: Amazon, Atmos Energy, Baylor Scott & White Health, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lake Pointe, City Bank, Community Value Thrift Center, Ebby Halliday, First Presbyterian Church Forney, First State Bank, First United Methodist Church Forney, Forney Community Ministries, FreeLife Church, Huckabee Architects, Infinity Texas Air, Intex Electric, KumOn, LakeShore Church, Lions Club Forney, McDonald Realty, Modern Woodman, Raising Cane’s, RelyOn Credit Union, Trinity Valley Electric Co-op, Walmart Distribution, Walsh Gallegos Trevino Kyle & Robinson P.C., Whataburger, and What’s Poppin.
