Check out this week’s recipe for a healthy, grilled dish with a yummy pineapple marinade: https://realsimplegood. com/grilled-pineapple-chicken/ This year we celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, June 19.
Did you know? Sonora Smart Dodd founded what we consider the tradition of Father’s Day in 1910 to honor her father, Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, for all his efforts as a single parent raising his six children. However, it was not until 1972 when President Richard Nixon signed into law a permanent recognition of Father’s Day. According to Hallmark, Father’s Day is the fourth largest card-sending occasion with 72 million cards given every year.
Upcoming National Days include: Saturday, June 3 is National Play Outside and Bicycle Day; Sunday, June 4 is National Hug Your Cat, National Cheese Day, and National Cancer Survivor’s Day; Monday, June 5 is National Gingerbread Day; Tuesday, June 6 is National Gardening Exercise Day, National Applesauce Cake Day, National Yo-Yo Day, and National Drive-In Movie Day; Wednesday, June 7 is National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, and Thursday, June 8 is National Best Friends Day.
