REMEMBERING MOM ON MOTHER’S DAY

For many of us, Mother’s Day brings sweet memories of mothers who have passed on. It is a day that we feel particularly close to our mothers. I still have the last message my mom left me on my cell phone. I only play it on Mother’s Day and on her birthday, and I can’t help but smile when I hear her voice again and the words, “I love you”.

If you still have your mother, consider yourself lucky. Let her know how much you love her on her special day. If she lives far away, try to make a point to see her every chance you get. Even if you have a disagreement with her, always be kind and loving. Call her often and tell her how much you love her.

I will never forget that after my mom was diagnosed with cancer, I spent the night next to her and held her hand while I prayed for her and she for me, my brothers, her grandkids, and my dad.

At her funeral, my brothers and I compiled most of her poems into binders and gave a copy to everyone in attendance. I chose this poem because it reads like she wrote it to us, her loving family she left behind.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. I hope to see you soon, but for now I still feel you with me.

I Just Said Goodbye To You

I just said goodbye to you and left you in God’s care I ask Him to watch over you and lift you up in prayer. We know he’ll supply you daily with everything you need and angels will surround you and to him you will always heed. That they will always guide your steps no matter where you go. To keep you safe from harm in this world of sin and woe. Wherever you go we love you and leave you in his care. That love and sunshine greet you and flowers everywhere. Always walk tall and proud knowing you’re in our hearts That there’s a place in Heaven Where we’ll never be apart.
