March 30, 2023, at 6:09 p.m. Kaufman County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a stolen vehicle reported out of Carrollton, Texas. The vehicle failed to stop and began to flee, traveling west on HWY 80. The pursuit ended after the suspect collided with another vehicle west bound HWY 80 at N. Jobson Rd. Sunnyvale, Texas. The driver then exited the vehicle firing multiple shots at the pursuing deputies while running on foot.

After a lengthy search the suspect was taken into custody by the Sunnyvale Police Department. The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Hispanic Male Omar Robledo charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Arrest in a Vehicle, Evading Arrest or Detention and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Public Servant. Passenger of the stolen vehicle 20-year-old Hispanic Male Alejandro Honorato-Calderon has been arrested and charged with Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 1B >1g<4g and Possession of Substance in Penalty Group 4>200g<400.

No deputies or arrestees were injured during the exchange of gunfire.

With the collective efforts of all Law Enforcement agencies involved both suspects have been apprehended.
