The 5th Annual Gala Night for the Forney Education Foundation is happening on Saturday, April 1, 2023. This year it will take place at the Silver Saloon in Terrell, Texas from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, there still might be a few available – just check out the events tab on the home page for FEF. But, if there are no tickets available, you can still have an impact on the Foundation by participating in the online silent auction which will remain “live” until 10:30 p.m. on April 1. Be sure to check that out since you can bid from your phone! Just register anytime before the end and bid, bid, bid!
The Gala night is one of the biggest fundraisers that the Foundation hosts to support its vision of lighting the way for teaching and learning at Forney ISD. Now, you may wonder what that actually means. How do we light the way? The Forney Education Foundation’s stated mission is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, provide innovation in teaching, and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education for all students. FEF funds teacher-requested grants that are awarded in the fall as well as sponsoring the Blackland Prairie Film Festival in the spring, the STEAM camps in the summer, and the Antlers and TuTus Fun Run in December. Education is yearround and the Foundation understands that support is always needed.
How can you join in the fun of supporting the mission and the vision? It is simply a matter of visiting the website and seeing how many students each of these events help in Forney ISD. Just remember, even if the Gala is sold out, the Film Festival which will happen on May 12 will occur at the Forney High School Performing Arts Facility.
