The beginning of Spring is less than a week away, and what better way to start the season off right than to attend the Forney Education Foundation’s Wranglers and Rhinestones – our 5th Annual Casino Night – on April 1, 2023 at the Silver Saloon in Terrell. This great event will consist of announcing and awarding the Teacher of the Year candidates from Forney ISD, live entertainment, dinner, casino games to win prizes, a silent auction, and a live auction. This event could not be as successful as it is without the sponsorship of the community sponsors that believe in the Foundation’s mission. And the opportunity to be a part of this event as an attendee and sponsor is still available.
The Forney Family has benefitted and supported FEF since its beginning by helping it to light the way for teaching and learning in Forney ISD. The Foundation awards teacher-requested grants annually in the Fall and, since 2008, FEF has funded over $1,000,000 to classroom teachers. Starting in 2022, the Foundation became a financial sponsor to STEAM camps in the summer by providing scholarships for qualifying students and a weekly lunch to the instructors. FEF hosts multiple events throughout the year and, also in 2022, sponsored the First Annual Blackland Prairie Film Festival with awards given in 6 categories.
There are many ways to support the students in Forney ISD, and one of the best is through the Forney Education Foundation. The Board of Directors serves the students and teachers in the District with a passion to enhance the overall learning experience and give all of the students the best preparatory classes and career pathways possible.
