The Forney Lady Rabbits defeated the Lancaster Lady Tigers in front of a packed-out Jackrabbit Gymnasium. Coming into the game, the two teams sat tied for fourth place in the district standings.
The Lady Rabbits held tight during the first half, with sophomore Raegan Haar and senior Amanda Yates hitting two critical three pointers to close the gap after falling behind by 8 points in the middle of the second quarter. The Lady Rabbits played a strong inside-out game during the second half, pulling ahead by as many as eleven points during the fourth quarter. Madison Triolet’s defense helped spark the run that saw the Lady Rabbits take the first lead of the game during the third quarter. Deserae Charles finished with a game-high 20 points, with 14 being assisted by her teammates. As the Lady Tigers stormed back, free throws by the Lady Rabbits ultimately decided the outcome of the game, with Forney edging out Lancaster 56-51.
