The end of any year causes one to look back in reflection of the events that had occurred in the last twelve months. Forney Education Foundation experienced a wonderful 2022 due in large part to the amazing support of the teachers and community that believed in and understood the mission of FEF. The donors that gave so generously to the Foundation– regardless of the amount–also understood that the funds are very carefully spent to benefit the teachers and students in Forney ISD. Since the Grant Train has rolled through FISD for this school year, the teachers are looking forward to receiving their grants next semester and implementing them in their classroom.
Because of the outstanding and generous support from the Forney Community, this school year the Forney Education Foundation was able to fund 52 teacher-requested grants in the amount of $115,000. And because of that milestone, since 2008, Forney Education Foundation has awarded over a million dollars in teacher-requested grants.
Even though the calendar starts over soon, Forney Education Foundation and FISD are only halfway through the school year. Spring brings with it new opportunities to support FEF, whether by sponsoring or attending the upcoming Gala Casino Night, which we are holding at the Silver Saloon in Terrell on April 1. Money raised in the Spring goes into the funds for next year’s Grant Train— and just like our teachers and staff, the Foundation is always working today looking forward to tomorrow.
