The month of November brings many thoughts and memories to a community that is filled with thoughtful, caring people. The Forney Education Foundation is blessed to be composed of these same individuals who together create a family - a family that plans for the future and raises funds that directly benefit the students and teachers of Forney ISD.

And another group of individuals that care deeply for the Forney Family is the board members for the Forney Food Pantry. FEF has many crossover members with the Food Pantry - people who understand how important full stomachs are for families to function together and for students to sleep well and learn in school. The Food Pantry began a backpack program to ensure that all students have food to eat over the weekend when they are not in school. So many of the people that benefit from the pantry’s existence are just our neighbors that need a bit of help due to unforeseen circumstances.

Even though there have been November food drives for the Pantry, please do not think that there is ample food on the shelves. The fact that our area has already had two very early freezes speaks to the fact that this will likely be a very difficult winter for a larger number of citizens in our community. Cold weather means hungry bellies. The Forney Education Foundation knows that children with full tummies are better students and benefit more from their teachers’ lessons because they have the ability to sleep well and function properly. Join the FEF and support the #ForneyFamily by helping the Forney Food Pantry.
