The North Forney Falcons played their final game last Thursday night against the Rockwall Heath Hawks and lost 38 to 6. The defense played well most of the game, but the injury riddled offense just could not put it together against a stout Heath defense.
The program overall ended on a more positive note with the JV going 6 and 4 and the Freshman at 5 and 5. Several JV and Freshman games that they lost were close games. So even though Head Coach Eric Luster did not end the season with a playoff bid in his first year of 6A, he did find out that his players can compete at the 6A level. As the numbers grow and as the new defense and offense coordinators have a chance to get a second year, the program looks bright for the Falcons.
We would like to wish all the seniors well in their endeavors to get to the next level, and we are there to support all of them in their walk. As for the rest of the team, it’s time to hit the weight room with a vengeance. The biggest noticeable thing that Coach Luster saw was the strength level difference of the Falcons and the rest of our 6A schedule. “We need more rigor and commitment with our kids in the weight room and our summer program,” Luster commented.
Overall the attitude of the Falcons is optimistic, and excitement still can be found at North Forney Football. See you next season, and thank you for all of your support throughout the 2022 season!
