All of the work and dedication of the Forney High School Band students paid off at the UIL Region 3, 5A Marching Contest held at Memorial Stadium in Mesquite on Oct. 12th. At the end of the 10 minute performance, the judges gave the band superior one ratings across the board for their efforts.
The motto of the band is “Honor from within”. The students have taken this to heart, and they practice each school day at 6:45 am. When other students are enjoying a fall break, the band students are putting the finishing touches on their program.
The presentation theme is titled ‘Lock and Key’. Under the direction of Mr. Cody Newman, the band found the key to unlock the determination to be true champions by tapping that honor that comes from within.
