There are amazing professional educators in Forney ISD. And they answered the call from the Forney Education Foundation to apply for the teacher-requested grant program. This year, there were 82 grant applications compared to 65 applications last year. There were so many thoughtful and well-considered applications submitted, and the Grant Committee was almost giddy in anticipation of the requests these teachers submitted.

Since Adopt-A-Grant began, the Forney Family has stepped up in a most amazing way! The Foundation is thrilled that so many realize how just a little more creates such large opportunities for the students in Forney ISD. When a grant is chosen through this program, it allows FEF to adopt other grant requests, allowing those that had to be a “no” to become a “YES”!

When you visit the website www.forneyisdfoundation. org, you will see the link to view all of the grants available for adoption. And this year, there is an additional option: you can give whatever amount you can towards the Adopt-A-Grant program! The Foundation realizes that the amounts for an individual grant may be more than you can give, so the last option allows you to give whatever amount you can. This amount could be a significant number to you – your favorite number or a number that reminds you of someone or something significant in your life. The reasons that the Foundation Board Members work for the Forney Education Foundation are as varied as the people involved, but all of us are here for the kids.
