Evening, Don. I just read your article on “Pickle Ball.” I am a little behind in my reading, but the blessing is that your articles don’t need to be read in sequence.

I heard that the game, “Pickleball,” was named after the family dog, “Pickle.” Anyway, I’ve been playing this summer, and it is addictive. You’ll love it and will be great at it!

What’s great about the game for not-so-young players is that it is not as much running as tennis—not so much ground to cover!

O. K., one last fact. The National Champion lives down the street from me. The more serious players play every day at the Baptist Church in Sherman, while we lesser players use a Community Center in town. The nearest place to play from Sunnyvale is Rowlett. Forney is so progressive now that there may be a court in your “backyard!” Have a great Sunday! Regards, Mary Whitehurst of “M. Whitehurst Designs” *MARY “ADAMS” WHITEHURST graduated from F. H. She has a daughter, son, husband (Bill), and five grandchildren—plus two sisters, Cathie (Forney) and Jerra (Rowlett). Mary and I (Themer) have been dear friends since 5th Grade. I think I will check out this thing called “pickleball!*
