Stallions to 218 yards total offense while sacking QB Luke Seder 7 times and causing 3 fumbles, 2 of them being returned for TDs by the defensive player of the game, linebacker Jaylon Gray. Gray would also lead the team in tackles with 8. The defensive line really played well and had a breakout game applying pressure all night on the Stallion QB. Nick Acuna would lead the front with 4 hurries and a sack, along with David Paine’s 1 sack and 2 hurries, Martin Roacha’s 1 sack and 1 hurry, Gustavo Rubio’s 1 sack and 1 hurry, Patilla’s 1 sack, and Langston to round it off with 1.5 sacks.
The secondary had the biggest challenge of the night trying to stop both of the Stallions’ division 1 prospects, Cordell Russell being the main threat. Russell did score on a 55-yard pass on a busted coverage but was really contained the rest of the night. Defensive Back Coaches Mario Edwards, Dylin Swares, and Cory Crowder all praised the secondary for their play. Caleb Holt causing and recovering a fumble deep in Stallion territory was a game changer for our offense. Ryan Wallace, Isaiah Mayfield, Edwards, and Amai Branch had key pass breakups to shut down the Stallions to 0 points in the second half.
It was a great team victory as the Falcons take on the Woodrow Wilson Wildcats this Friday at Kincaide Stadium. Kickoff will be at 7:30pm, so come and support your Falcons this Friday.
