Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1a
Soon after Israel crossed the Red Sea, GOD began to test their faith to see if they would have faith in Him and His watchful care over them. GOD put them in a place where they would have to depend on Him for food and water. It appears they faced the same thing all humans have faced since Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden. Our five senses we are given apply to physical things. Faith takes us past our five senses into the area of trust, believing what we can’t see, and relying on our faith for everything we need to live.
GOD created Israel to be a witness to the rest of the world. At that time a person could only go to GOD through a Priest or joining Israel and living by their laws. In the New Testament we will see how that was changed when Jesus came and died on the Cross.
BOTTOM LINE: Faith is not automatic in our lives. It must be taught and used daily to be real in our lives. The five senses we are given will keep us in our comfort zones, but faith will take us beyond that………. AMEN
