Varsity and JV cheerleaders from North Forney High School brought home a number of awards and achievements after attending NCA summer cheer camp from June 17-20 at Texas Christian University.
19 North Forney cheerleaders were nominated as All-Americans, and four were named to the All-American team: Tati T, Amaya Y, Hailey H, and Breasia A. The All-American award is given to those who display superior technical skills, leadership, and strong personal values. The award also gives cheerleaders the opportunity to perform in special events, such as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Varsity team also won the top team trophy for their cheer performance at the camp.
The cheerleaders weren’t the only ones recognized during the camp. North Forney Mascot, Frankie the Falcon (Jake S) received multiple awards, including prop artist, most-spirited, and All-American Superior Ribbon.
The Freshman and JV teams paired up to bring home awards of their own. While at the camp, the teams swept their division, winning first place in top team cheer, first place in top team chant, and first place in top team band chant.
All three teams were awarded spirit sticks, and head captain, Alyssa Bard, was invited to join the NCA staff next year.
