When it is “July hot” in June, inside activities become more popular unless you have access to the beach or a swimming pool! Teachers and students, paraprofessionals and administrative staff are into their respective summer routines recharging themselves or tying up the endof-year details before their breaks can begin.
And Forney Education Foundation is already preparing for next year’s activities by welcoming new Board members and electing the officers for the 2022-2023 year. The different committees have been working these last few months to make the next year better than ever for the students and staff in Forney ISD.
Part of the activities handled in the annual meeting include the normal approving of minutes and financial reports and this year also includes approval of updates to the Foundation bylaws that will make what FEF does easier for the volunteers to spread the word about our good works.
The examples of grants funded are as varied as the students that attend Forney ISD and help explain the good works that the Foundation has helped with so far. From ceramic kilns to autopsy mannequins, SPED libraries in classrooms to dual language signage, the grants that have been funded have greatly enhanced the classroom experiences for the students in the FISD system.
As Forney Education Foundation renews itself and begins the new year, the next year is as bright as the sun in the early summer sky. Remember your sunscreen and visit some wonderful places, visit with family and friends, and try something new– remember in the summer, there are no “it’s a school night” excuses to prevent a little moment on a Tuesday night or a Thursday afternoon. So please visit www.forneyisdfoundation.org and see what good works happened last year. The future is so bright, you are going to need shades!
