Loretta uses a not too smart “fictional” book hero, who is called “Dash McMahon” and is played by (movie name) Alan Caprison, also played by Channing Tatum in reality, to move the action. I hope I have not confused you as much as I was for a little while as I sorted things out at the movie!
For those of you who are Brad Pitt fans, he also has a small part in this “flick,” Jack Trainer, a tracker and “action” man!
Suffice it to say that there is quite a bit of action and suspense and also some very comic moments, and, of course, romance and LOVE.
This is sort of a “treasure hunt” with a mixture of differing “chemistries,” as the action moves towards what was an unexpected ending for me.
Different critical reviews have given this production a “C+,” a “B+,” a “C,” and a “B.” Another response meter stated that approximately 60% of folks polled said, “I definitely recommend it to others!”
The rating is PG-13 for suggestive material and language, partial nudity, violence and bloody images, but this rating sounds worse than it really was, at least in my opinion. The “genre,” as listed in reviews, is Action/Adventure/Romance/Comedy. And, I did see all four of these!
I think I might enjoy seeing “Lost City” again so that I could better “pick up on” all the little nuances and images! My rating is a solid “B,” and I would like to put in an “extra” vote for Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who does not have a large part as Beth Hatten but does an excellent job and caught my dramatic and comic attention views.
Sandra Bullock is Loretta Sage, an author who has been labelled as “reclusive,” but who has gone on tour to “drum up” enthusiasm about her newest novel, an adventure, and has taken a desirable and handsome “cover” model with her. He is played by Channing Tatum!
Action begins when Loretta is kidnapped and must try to escape from Abigail Fairfax (very rich “crook,”) who is played by Daniel Radcliffe and is convinced that Loretta has based her “fictional” (haha) novel upon an ACTUAL LOST CITY that could be worth $$millions, since the lost city is the location of the “Crown of Fire,” priceless by most estimations!
