The 4th annual Casino Night is now a memory of a great evening thanks in no small part to all of the sponsors. The presenting sponsors were Gallagher Construction and Huckabee with title sponsors of Walsh Gallegos and Cantu Harden LLP. Other sponsors included at the Gold Level- Intex, Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins and Mott,LLP, Tracon Construction. At the Silver level- American National Bank, Live Oak Public Finance, Edward Jones- Greg Pharris, Advisor. The Bronze level included- George and Marsha Brown, Scott Lawton, Warren Instructional Network and Professional Development, PBK. The Benefactor level was filled by City Bank, EMS Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., North Texas Mechanical, LLC, Southwestern Land & Title, Steve Silver Company, and McDonald Realty Team. And the Teacher of the Year sponsors were: Amanda and Mike Lewis, Forney Legacy Project, KB Cattle Company, Lewis Elementary PTO, Murrey Paschall & Caperton PC, Walsh Gallegos, Warren Middle PTO, Bradford Law Firm, Smoothie King, Flower Basket, Criswell PTO, and Oncor.

One of the highlights of the evening was introducing all of the Teacher of the Year awardees from each campus with Dr. Justin Terry doing the honors. The elementary teachers are: Blackburn Elementary- Devon Evans- Brown, Claybon Elementary- Brandy Christian, Criswell Elementary–Norma Saldana, Crosby Elementary- Laura Brandes, Griffin Elementary- Christin Joesting, Henderson Elementary-Ashley Mayes, Johnson Elementary- Makenzi Bockler, Lewis Elementary-Kirsten Garza, Rhea Intermediate-Kristina May, Rhodes Intermediate- Jenny Busby, and Smith Intermediate- Trent Starnes. The secondary teachers are Brown Middle- Amy Hansen, Jackson Middle-Jill Rouse, Warren Middle-Katelyn Trotter, FHS- Chelsea Baranski, NFHS- Tiffany Ross, and Forney Learning Academy- Nicole Smith-Hooks. Forney Education Foundation gave $500 to each of the 17 campus honorees. Then Greg Pharris, Forney ISD Board of Trustees President presented the District Teachers of the Year. The Elementary Level District Teacher of the year is Kristina May of Rhea Intermediate and the Secondary Level District Teacher of the Year is Jill Rouse of Jackson Middle.

The attendees dressed in the “disco” theme and enjoyed live music and the casino games with prizes. The silent and live auctions raised over $35,000 and with the help of the sponsorships and ticket sales, this year’s event raised over $115,000.

And the REAL winners of the night were the students and teachers in Forney ISD. The support that FEF receives from the Forney Family and community enables us to continue in our mission of Lighting the Way for Teaching and Learning.
