Kathryn Ann Yingling, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Jan. 25, 2022 in Greenville with her devoted family at her side. Kathy was born on April 10, 1938 in Royse City to Edward and Willie Mae DeMasters, both of whom were there to greet her in Heaven along with her husband, Jack William Yingling.

Growing up, Kathy realized early in life that she could always trust in her Lord, in the good times and bad, knowing that His love was an all-encompassing love. She had a gentle spirit that echoed the never-ending mercy of God and she loved to show that mercy to all who met her. After her love for Him, Kathy’s whole heart was devoted to her family. Her dedication to her husband, children and (later) grandchildren was unquestioned and there was nothing that could keep Kathy from letting each of them know daily that she was proud of them and loved them. She also loved to travel and was the first one up when excursions were planned especially to Galveston or Branson, both of her favorite destinations! Being in the same space with Kathy was an uplifting and encouraging experience for all who met her-if you were feeling a bit down, she would lean over, gently pat your arm or hug you and say, “Everything is going to be alright…God knows what He is doing!” Her ever present faith was a beacon of light to so many in her life and an example that her family is proud to carry on into future generations. A loving, nurturing, supportive and true angel on Earth, Kathy will be missed but never forgotten by all whose lives she touched.

Kathy leaves a legacy of unconditional love to her six children: Carol Hafertepe of Mesquite, Johnny Bushnell of Farmersville , Deborah Bushnell of Greenville, Michael and Tiffany Bushnell of Rockwall, Samuel and Hollie Bushnell of Terrell and Eric and Tamara Yingling of Greenville; grandchildren: Christopher Hafley, Brittany Hafley Cook, Elizabeth Hafertepe, Sarah Bushnell Gonzalez, Emily Bushnell Poole, Kenneth Mckinley, Jr., Roland Schneider III, Katie Schneider Chury, Lauren Bushnell Knight, Dylan Bushnell, Madison Lingerfelt, Jaylyn Yingling and Jaycee Yingling; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy DeMasters Gross and Edwin DeMasters. as well as several other extended family and a host of friends, all of whom will always remember her smile and hugs and will miss her deeply.

A celebration of Kathy’s life was held at 7:00pm, Monday, Feb. 7, 2022 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared with her family at www.maxslaytonfunerals.com.
