Crandall High School’s Jared Miller was named principal of Anna High School at an Anna ISD school board meeting Thursday night. Anna Trustees unanimously voted on Miller to lead the 4A high school, located in Collin County.
Anna ISD, like Crandall ISD, is a fast-growth community. Miller has served as CHS principal since June 2020.
“This is an opportunity for me to move closer to family in the Collin County area,” Miller said. “Crandall ISD has offered so many experiences for my wife and son since we arrived almost two years ago. This community is one that takes great pride in the Texas C and the Pirate culture, and I am delighted to have been part of it. We have enjoyed our time in CISD and will take memories and friendships with us as we move to Anna.”
Prior to CHS, Miller served Allen High School as associate principal of operations and student services. During his 16 years at the school, he has also maintained roles as dean of students and house principal.
Miller began his tenure in Allen as a high school math teacher and coach. He served in those same roles at Abilene Cooper High School, Jacksonville High School and Wichita Falls High School. Miller earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Education from Texas Tech University and his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Midwestern State. He also minored in math.
CISD will immediately begin its search for Miller’s replacement as he begins transitioning to Anna over the next several weeks.
“Jared has helped guide Crandall High School through some of the most challenging times ever faced by educators,” said CISD Superintendent Dr. Wendy Eldredge. “We wish him and his family nothing but the best as they take on this new journey and move closer to loved ones.
“As we begin the search to find our next principal, everyone can rest assured that every decision made will be done with our students and staff at heart.”
