On Monday, January 24, 2022, Marsha James, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 76.
Marsha was born on February 1, 1945 in Dallas, to W.D. and Lucille Pickard of Seagoville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Shirley, brother Jerry, the love of her life, Ted Stilwell, and her precious granddaughter, Chynna Zmolik. She is survived by her daughter, Dina Moon and husband Kevin of Forney, grandson Dillan Zmolik and wife Haley of Canton, grandson Daniel Zmolik, wife Laurali, and greatgrandchildren Chynna and Ezra of Kingwood, grandson Carter Moon of College Station, sister Karen Stilwell of Eunice, NM, niece Jennifer Turner and husband Darrell of Seagoville, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Marsha was the life of all parties. During her 30 plus years in Forney, she was a fixture at Settler’s gas station where she entertained both customers and longtime coffee drinkers with her famous stories.
Marsha was very passionate about her role of activities director at Evans Senior Center in Mesquite, where she organized the Tuesday afternoon and Friday night senior dances.
We will miss her zest for life, her love of all things John Wayne, her tap-dancing skills, and her ability to two-step to any country and western song, with or without a dance partner.
Her passing leaves a terrible void, but we rejoice in knowing that Heaven is surely made of sequins where the dancefloor has ample sawdust, and a Merle Haggard song is always playing.
