Richard Lee Houston II of Forney, Texas was born September 27, 1975 in Dallas, Texas to Richard Lee I and Debra Houston. He married Shelley Penn on May 11, 2001 in Dallas.
Richard enjoyed bird watching, fishing, kayaking, hunting, painting, reading, writing, jiu-jitsu, camping, listening to old music and baseball. He was best known though for the 21 years spent as a Mesquite Texas Police Officer. During those years, he received 48 letters of commendation, 2 life-saving awards, 1 police commendation bar, citizens Police Academy Officer of the Month Award (August 2018) and a Certificate of Merit in April 2021. He was also a member of the SWAT team for 10 years.
Richard is survived by his wife of over 20 years, Shelley; children, Shelby Houston, Hannah Houston and Lucas Houston; mother, Debra Myers; sisters, Julie Quain, Melissa Frajkor and Dannett Houston; brothers, Kenny Houston, Drew Allen, Zach Houston, Aaron Houston and Travis Myers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Houston I.
