Dear Aunt B Readers,

After last week talking about 2022, I thought it might seem important to discuss finishing out 2021. Are you done with the year? Only leaving the holidays to finish it out or do you have things that need to be cleaned up to start anew?

If you are going to skate through the end of the year, great. However, if you want to take advantage of this time to finish strong or at least prepare to start the new year strong, now is your time. Let us get busy.

Are there any items that you can check off your list with one easy swipe? Do those. Are there items that on December 31st if completed would fill you with such relief? If you have the time, complete those tasks.

Is there a person that you would enjoy reconnecting with? Possibly there has been a rift and you really miss the relationship. No time like the present.

Are there cards or letters you would like to send to tell someone how important they are to you? Send those.

Did you take pictures over the past year that you would like to make into a memory book for 2021? Don’t fret that you should have done this every year for the past 100. Even if you still have all the pictures. Start with 2021.

Look over the past year. What are you happy with? What would you have liked to change? Is there anything you can do to correct those items? If not, let them go. If you can enter the new year without regrets you will be way ahead of the game. How do you let them go? Are there lessons that you learned from these regrets? If you don’t believe there to be lessons, look a little harder. There are always lessons. What are the things you are most grateful about? Do something to memorialize the things you appreciate.

Are there supplies you need to purchase to get ready for next year? Are there systems you need to get into place to make next year stellar?

Did you have a word for this past year? How did that work out for you? Do you want a word for next year? I have a great word for next year. I will share if you like, oh heck I will share anyway, but not this week.

Plan the rest of your holidays. Do something different. When you add a new tradition or activity it feels special.

Next week we will talk about the significance of having a word to represent your year and a few ideas on picking your word.

Love,

Aunt B
