The Forney Education Foundation Grant Committee has worked very diligently these last two weeks perusing the grant requests from the teachers and staff of Forney ISD. As always, there are some wonderful requests and that makes the selection of which grants to fund that much more difficult for the committee. There are criteria that the committee follows that helps the decision making process along, but when there are so many wonderful ideas it does make the narrowing down process more difficult.
The teachers in Forney ISD look for innovative ideas that will help their students in the classroom and in their futures. Many skills that are learned in the classroom translate into the foundation for the future life of a student, such as music and art and interpersonal skills like facilitating interaction and communication with others.
And now the opportunity for the Forney Community to step up to choose to fund any of the teacherrequested grants is upon us! It is officially Adopt-A-Grant season now through December 17. All donations are tax deductible and are just in time for year-end tax benefits. Adopting a grant can be done in memory of a loved one, in honor of someone special, as a means of advertising your business, or simply because you believe in that teacher or innovative grant.
