The calendar has reminded us once again that time-- and tide-- wait for no man. The parents of senior students in Forney ISD could have already told the world this because they have been looking at this march of time known as senior year since August. So many events happen in the last two months of the calendar year, and many people feel overwhelmed trying to participate in everything they think is necessary to make the end of the year perfect.
Forney Education Foundation also understands how time gallops along with no regard to when deadlines need to be met. The Grant Committee has received notice that grant applications are in their inboxes ready to be read and evaluated. Since 2008, FEF has been funding teacher-requested grants and the tradition continues this year. The teachers have submitted their requests to their respective campus principals who, after reviewing and then approving, in turn have sent them onto FISD Administration. After Admin, the grants come to us at the Foundation. The Adopt-A-Grant window will open soon allowing the Forney Community to have the opportunity to also help the teachers and students in Forney ISD directly. The best part of when the Grant Train rolls through the District is seeing teachers’ faces light up when they realize that their grant was funded--just as if Christmas came early!
