We can’t love someone unless we know them. No one has ever seen GOD and lived to tell about it. If we are going to love GOD according to the Bible’s instruction, we have to “know” Him. That doesn’t mean to know about Him but to stay close to Him through prayer and obedience. That may sound easy but we have the enemy of GOD throwing temptations in our path 24/7. The devil knows our weakest part and will always start there to stop us from serving GOD. When a person is “saved” the devil loses that soul but he will do everything in his power to keep them from serving GOD.
Some Christians may serve GOD out of duty, but GOD wants us to serve Him because we love Him and find joy in our service. Christian joy is the best in the world. GOD pays those up front who serve out of duty, but He pays those who love Him later. Which pay would we rather have?
GOD knows us inside and out. He knows our thoughts and intent of our hearts. That is why our prayers must be sincere and from the heart. We can’t play games with GOD or fool Him in any way. I am glad that is that way because He really does know our problems before we take them to Him. What a great GOD we have.
BOTTOM LINE: I believe our greatest joy will be to hear the words “well done thy good and faithful servant”…AMEN
