Laymen’s Corner

When GOD brought Israel to the Promised Land, He gave them a law to live by. The law could not prevent anyone from doing wrong, it could only punish them when they did something wrong. GOD had to give some rules that the people could understand. I don’t think GOD expected His people to live in constant fear of the law, but to respect and honor it. Every detail for human daily living was covered. If they kept the law from their hearts GOD would bring them peace and well being. If they did not keep the law GOD would bring disorder and chaos to their land. GOD sent Judges and Kings to govern the people and prophets to speak His word to the people. He had to do it that way to cover everything His people would need in their new land.

I believe America could be called the Promised Land for the gentiles of the world. Just as Israel had to fight for their Promised Land, people had to fight to make America free. GOD knew the hearts of people and what kind of government was needed to govern “free” people. GOD used GODLY men to write the constitution with three governing bodies so no one person or group would control the country. As long as the American people would follow GOD’S guidelines they could live long and prosper and enjoy complete freedom. I don’t know how long our freedom will last, but now we can travel one end of our country to the other without any interference from the law so long as we have the money and obey the law of the land.

BOTTOM LINE: Jesus Christ gave His life on a cruel cross to pay for the sins of the world so we could enjoy this freedom. GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON SO “ALL HUMANS” COULD HAVE ETERNAL LIFE BY TRUSTING HIM AS THEIR PERSONAL SAVIOR…………. AMEN John: 3:16.
