Athens Ceremony of Final Tribute

On Flag Day, it was my honor to speak at the Athens Ceremony of Final Tribute. Numerous American Flags “Old Glory” had been collected by the Knights of Columbus to be decommissioned and retired. A moving display of honor, respect and patriotism for our veterans and our Nation!

Kaufman County Vaccine Hub

Enjoyed celebrating the Kaufman County Vaccine Hub accomplishments along with the leadership, partners, first responders and volunteers that made it happen! Proud to have assisted Judge Hal Richards, Mayor Carmona (City of Terrell) and Dr. Jerry King (TVCC) in providing this public service for our constituents. Kaufman Co. went from 300 vaccinations a week to over 36,000 in 63 days!

Rep. Bell’s Bills Signed into law by Governor Abbott

HB 1264: Expeditiously removes deceased individuals from the voter rolls to ensure that their identities cannot be used to vote fraudulently. It is essential that our voter rolls be accurate and certified to maintain confidence in the democratic process. Effective 9/1/21.

HB 1321: Designates a portion of Highway, to honor the lives of Henderson County Deputy Sheriffs Paul Habelt and Tony Ogburn who were shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call. Our law enforcement officers risk their lives every day for our safety, the least we can do is honor their sacrifice. Effective 9/1/21.

HB 1476: Ensures vendors and suppliers alike are protected and compensated in a timely manner when working with state and governmental entities. Effective 9/1/21.

HB 3938: Establishes the industry-based certification advisory council to provide guidance to public education leaders on current and future workforce needs. Effective immediately.

HB 4617: Authorizes High Point’s Special Utility District Board of Kaufman and Rockwall counties to create and thereafter elect some or all board candidates from single-member districts. Effective 9/1/21.
