Even as Summer is winding up to be a great time away from school, the administrators in Forney ISD are still working to get three new campuses ready for opening day on August 16, 2021.
There have been mini tours of the new campuses with the administrative staff for each school generating much excitement among these dedicated professionals. Many of them have already crafted their thoughts for the opening day when staff arrives at these new facilities.
And the Forney Education Foundation is also excited about these new campuses and the new teachers that will become members of the Forney Family. We can hardly wait to introduce them to the help that FEF can give to them through teacher-requested grants, and to remind them that there are opportunities for them as well as Forney Community members to enroll in Dallas College at Forney for college classes at the in-district tuition rate. The students also can enroll in dual credit classes with a scholarship from the college so the only cost to Forney students is the cost of the textbooks needed for each class. The Foundation covers the cost of the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) assessment for all incoming freshmen in Forney ISD thus allowing them to enroll in dual-credit classes.
Also, Texas Tech University has partnered with Forney ISD to enable online learning for students to pursue a bachelor’s degree for approximately $12,000. With the new partnership, Forney ISD students will have the opportunity to complete their core curriculum or associates degree through the Eastfield Campus of Dallas College, and then transfer to Texas Tech University to complete their bachelor’s degree without ever leaving Forney.
With the sun shining so brightly, it is a great day to be in Forney, Texas and be a student or a teacher in the District. Come join us and bring your shades! Please go to www.forneyisdfoundation.org to join the bright future in Forney.
