Republican State Representative Keith Bell announced today that he will seek re-election to the Texas State House following a session that many have called “one of the most conservative sessions in Texas history.” Rep. Bell is eager to continue the momentum of Republican victories he just helped secure on behalf of House District 4, which is comprised of Kaufman County and part of Henderson County.

“From landmark pro-life legislation to Constitutional Carry to the largest border security investment in Texas history, this session we achieved new heights for our conservative values - and we’re just getting started,” said Bell. “We must stop all voter fraud, reduce the school property tax burden, and ensure this state remains red for generations to come.”

During session, Rep. Bell co-sponsored and passed the “Fetal Heartbeat Bill,” which bans all abortions in which a baby’s heartbeat is detected as well as the “Abortion Trigger Ban,” which will end all abortion in Texas as soon as the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. Rep. Bell also co-authored the renowned Constitutional Carry Bill, which allows all law-abiding Texans 21 and older to carry firearms without having to get a permit or pay a fee.

A key member of the powerful Public Education committee, Rep. Bell was proud to pass a balanced state budget that included the largest investment in public education in Texas history – including $1 billion in property tax compression. Bell helped ensure accountability, fiscal responsibility, due process, and local control of our public schools while pushing back on highstakes testing and supporting our kids and educators.

Additionally, Bell passed important local bills like HB 3938, which established a workforce advisory council that ensures our students are workforce-ready with the skills and certifications they need to get a great job. Bell also passed HB 1264 requiring the swift removal of deceased Texans from our voter rolls. Bell also designated Henderson County’s Highway 198 as Deputy Sheriff Tony Ogburn and Deputy Sheriff Paul Habelt Memorial Highway – in memory of two brave officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Keith Bell owns and operates a cattle ranch in Hiram, Texas and he owns Intex Electrical Contractors, Inc., which he founded in 1983. Bell is a life member of both the Texas State Rifle Association and the National Rifle Association. He has been previously endorsed by Texas Alliance for Life, LifePAC, the Texas Municipal Police Association and the Texas Farm Bureau. Keith and his wife of 38 years, Annette, are active members of First Baptist Church of Forney. They are blessed with two adult daughters and five grandchildren.
