The Layden Senior Center (in Forney) will be opening at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, July 6 on the first floor of the Forney City Hall. The Center will remain open Monday through Friday until 2:00 PM and there is parking for seniors in the rear of the City Hall. The address of the Forney City Hall is 101 East Main Street, Forney, TX 75126.
The Center caters to Seniors over the age of 60 to come and participate in the daily activities. Since the Center has been closed since March of 2020 due to the Covid Pandemic, we are not sure exactly what activities will be on-going the first day. However, we usually have numerous card games and dominos every morning and afternoon. There is almost always someone or some group working on jig-saw puzzles. There are other activities planned for each day of the week. A detailed schedule of activities is being drawn up so that you will know what will be going on each weekday of the month. The Layden Senior Center is a great place to enjoy one’s day, form new friendships, take up a new hobby or activity, and/ or just to congregate with other seniors. As in the past a full lunch meal will be prepared and served at 12:00 noon. We are asking that those desiring to have lunch with us please sign in at the Senior Center before 10:30. This will enable the kitchen workers know how much food to prepare. If one cannot be there by 10:30, it is asked that you call (972) 552-6690 and let the Center know that you will be coming for lunch. Come in and join us and have a good time.
