District Attorney Erleigh Norville Wiley announced today the conviction of Mark Wayne Jolley, 61, for assault causes bodily injury with a finding of family violence, which is a class A misdemeanor offense.

After a two day trial before Judge Bobby Rich of County Court at Law No. 2, a jury of six Kaufman County citizens found Jolley guilty. The jury reached its verdict in less than 30 minutes.

The prosecution was led by Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Will Stovall and Taylor McConnell. Investigator Jim Donaldson and paralegal Kim Heather were instrumental to trial preparation. Additionally, the District Attorney’s Office recognizes the work of the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office in bringing Jolley to justice.

“My office works day in and day out to protect victims of violent crime,” said District Attorney Wiley. “This conviction sends a clear message that Kaufman County will not tolerate family violence.”
