The beginning of summer is magical for many people simply because of the promise it holds--days and days of moderately scheduled activities followed by open days with no schedule at all. But that isn’t the case for the staff that is overseeing the finishing construction of the three new schools slated to open for the 2021-2022 school year. Griffin Elementary School, Rhodes Intermediate School, and Jackson Middle School are in the last big push days to be finished in time. Of course all of the wonderful rain that has been happening the last three months has put a crimp in finishing the schedule but, the crews working on these three campuses have pivoted to interior work when the exterior has been covered in rainfall.

The principals of these three campuses have been steadily assembling their respective staffs and meeting with their peers and the staff at Administration to be ready for the start of school in August. The community was involved with choosing the mascots and school colors--this really makes the school belong to the incoming students. And the staff are very excited to meet their new students but of course, they will have to wait until the first day of school in August!

The Forney Education Foundation is also excited about these three new schools and their staff. The teachers in Forney ISD are some of the most wonderful educational professionals and FEF is proud to support them. And we look forward to helping them to be the best they can when they submit grant requests. Join the Forney Education Foundation and support these new campuses by going to www.forneyisdfoundation.org and giving any amount you would like to donate. No amount is too small--or large!!
