To say that his has been a unique year for students would be a gross understatement. Nothing has been normal. However, the Night of Percussion did bring a modicum of normal and the students presented their talents in a fashion above and beyond.

Director, Riley Warren is to be commended. It is obvious to one who follows FHS Percussion that he was able to guide students to develop their talents during this trying year.

The evening started with the Rhea Intermediate School Beginner Percussion Class playing the William Tell Overture and closed with Forney High School Wind Ensemble presenting the world premiere of Rue Des Cascades which was transcribed by Mr. Warren.

On the next day many of these student participated in a solo and ensemble contest. A total of 38 students from Warren Middle School and Forney High School were awarded Superior Ratings at this virtual contest for their music presentations as well as receiving valuable feedback from the judges. Yet more evidence of the excellent leadership of the Forney High School and Warren Middle School music staff.
