With a career background in finance and mortgage, Fay Headley, a financial advisor with Edward Jones, says she always wanted to do exactly what she’s doing now. Although her capacity for assisting clients changed and grew when she became a financial advisor, Headley says the goal for her remains the same: to help people make sound financial decisions, reach their individual goals, and to celebrate milestones and successes with them along the way. To put it succinctly, she says, “Investments are just one aspect of this. I’m really in the relationship business.”
With a Master of Science from Texas Tech University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University, the decision to join Edward Jones as a financial advisor was a simple one. “I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and the idea of running my own business really appealed to me,” Headley remembers. “And I chose Edward Jones because they put clients first.” So, in 2006, her career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones began with the opening of her office here in Forney.
Over the last fifteen years, Fay has welcomed several other financial advisors into her office, most recently Vincent Wallace, but her most steadfast teammate is her Senior Branch Office Administrator, Darla McCauley. Darla and Fay have been a team for the last eight years, consistently walking through life with countless clients, providing each of them with an exemplary level of customer service as it relates to their unique financial goals.
Headley, who says she lives to help people, comments that her favorite part of her career is “helping my clients navigate the complexities of their financial lives”. She also relates that being able to educate clients on financial matters, like how the stock market works, is another rewarding aspect of her position. The difficulty comes in experiencing clients pass away after having built such close relationships with them throughout their lives. However, Fay admits, “There isn’t much I don’t like about what I do. The industry is always changing. I’m always learning. There is always something to do. Change is the only thing that’s constant.”
The moments that Fay is not in her office, she continues to be active in a variety of ways. “It’s important for us to give back,” she states. And that she does. Headley has been involved in numerous boards, groups, and non-profit organizations, including the Kaufman County Children’s Advocacy Center, Forney Chamber of Commerce, and Rockwall Women’s League. Beyond these endeavors, Fay and her husband Allan enjoy traveling as much as possible, a strong religious faith, spending time with adult children Micah and Jahmela and their closely-knit extended family members.
To celebrate 15 years as an Edward Jones Financial Advisor in Forney, Headley plans to host a covid-safe open house this month.
