Smurfit Kappa North America, local company and longtime community partner, made the company’s largest donation to Forney Area United Way (FAUW) last month, presenting FAUW with a check for $55,194.00. This is also the largest amount FAUW has received in one year from a single entity in its history.
Smurfit Kappa is not a new contributor to FAUW, as they have been active in their partnership with United Way for close to two decades. An organization that prides itself on making a positive impact on the communities in which it is located, Smurfit Kappa’s local donation campaign among its employees continues to grow each year. SK is dedicated to continuing their involvement in making the Forney community a great place for residents to call home.
The Forney Area United Way, our local branch of a nationwide 501(c)(3) organization that distributes donations to other local nonprofits for the benefit of the community, has been a mainstay in the Forney area for decades. With the goal of ensuring a safe and healthy community for all, FAUW values community partners like Smurfit Kappa that work alongside FAUW in reaching these goals. Donating to the Forney Area United Way allows the money given by Smurfit Kappa employees – and all other donors – to be combined to provide the most effective benefit for the recipients and, in turn, the citizens of Forney.
