Forney ISD campuses recently took time to recognize their most outstanding teachers when they announced their 2020-2021 Campus Teachers of the Year! Each campus announced the one teacher, either a face-to-face teacher or a virtual teacher, at their school that stood out above the others and excelled for the students of Forney ISD.
The 2020-2021 Elementary School Campus Teachers of the Year are as follows:
Blackburn Elementary School - Comekia Blake - 2nd & 3rd Grade ELAR Teacher
Claybon Elementary School - Adalee Oldacre - Kindergarten Virtual Teacher
Criswell Elementary School - Troy Hawkins - Music Teacher
Crosby Elementary School - Stephanie Thompson - 4th Grade Teacher
Henderson Elementary School - Emily Carroll - 1st Grade Teacher
Johnson Elementary School - Catherine Johns - Kindergarten Virtual Teacher
Lewis Elementary School - Maribel Meza - 1st Grade Teacher
The 2020-2021 Intermediate School Campus Teachers of the Year in Forney ISD are:
Rhea Intermediate - Latonya Webb - 6th Grade ELAR Teacher
Smith Intermediate - Brigette Taylor - 6th Grade ELAR Teacher
The Middle School Forney ISD Campus Teachers of the Year are:
Brown Middle School - Cassie Hunt - ELAR Teacher
Warren MIddle School - Des Chavez - 8th Grade ELAR Teacher
The High School and Alternative School Campus Teachers of the Year for 2020-2021 are:
Forney High School - Pamela Burleson - Math Teacher
North Forney High School - Kelsie Garner - Math Teacher/Head Softball Coach
Forney Learning Academy - Mark Dietz - ASPIRE 5-6 Teacher
All of the elementary and intermediate campus teachers of the year will now be considered for the District Elementary Teacher of the Year and all of the middle school, high school and alternative school campus teachers of the year will be considered for the District’s Secondary Teacher of the Year. The teachers will go through an interview process with a selection committee and the District’s Elementary and Secondary Teachers of the Year will be announced in April.
