The boys and girls JV golf teams played their JV District at Rusted Rail Golf Club on Wednesday, March 17th. The girls placed 1st overall in the team division with Freshman Makayla Peek leading the way with a 3rd place finish overall individually. Other freshmen placed as well: Emma Chaney (5th), London Littlejohn (6th), Olivia Bowdoin (7th), and finishing Tied for 9th were freshmen Chandler Chaney, Lilly Dishman, and sophomore Alexis Abart.
The boys JV team placed 5th overall in the team competition. Leading the way was senior Tate Tarpley and junior Konnor Dudley with T11 finishes. Other notables were juniors Michael Prasnikar, Austin White, and freshmen Neil Nuzum and Christopher Whitehouse.
This concludes their last tournament of the year. Please congratulate these young men and women on a job well done. It’s been a great first year in competitive golf for many of them and the future looks bright!
The boys and girls varsity golf teams played in the 13- 5A district preview at Rusted Rail Golf Club in Crandall, on Thursday, March 18th. The windy and cool conditions didn’t stop the Jackrabbits from being successful. The boys team finished 1st place overall in the team competition. Leading the way was Senior Justin Morris with a score of 82 and 1st place finish individually. Junior Austin George also placed T4 with a solid showing as well and personal best! Other notables were junior Andre Kielczewski, sophomore Brennan Horton, and senior Vincent Coronado. The girls varsity golf team finished 2nd place in the team competition, leading the way was junior Lilli Wehmeyer with a 3rd place finish individually and another personal best! Senior Hannah Preston finished 7th place individually in the tournament. Other notables were juniors Chloe Crane, Kaylee Bowring, and senior Avery Fahey.
The varsity teams have one more tournament to prep before their district tournament at the end of the month. Please congratulate these young men and women on a job well done and persevering through the elements and challenges the course presented.
