Body

Retired nurse, wife and mother, Helen Jean Shaffer’s life did not come to an end with her passing. Helen passed away on March 18th, 2021 listening to her favorite musician Willie Nelson. There was not one song of Willie’s that she did not know all the words to. Her six children gathered together to celebrate, honor and preserve her legacy by living their lives to the fullest as she would have wanted.

Helen received her high school diploma and went on to nursing school to receive her license as a nurse from Great Plains Area Vo-Tech. Her pride was two-fold knowing that she was an exceptional nurse and could give her kids shots if need be.

Helen’s greatest joy was her family. Not only did she embrace her six children but also her grandchildren. She ruled with an iron fist but loved unconditionally. Helen is survived by her four remaining siblings, Lola, Lorraine, Steve and Bobby, her six children, Larry Jr, Scott, Mark, Patrick, Yvonne and Nathan plus fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She precedes her husband Larry of fifty-three years of marriage in death. We will miss you momma…….
