•Elizabeth Barrett Browning: Her most famous poetic works are included in Sonnets from the Portuguese (“How Do I Love Thee Let Me Count the Ways”), and she was married to another famous poet of the Victorian Age, Robert Browning. (March 6, 1806, England)
•Dr. Roger Bannister: This British medical student was the first person in the world to run a mile officially under four minutes (3 minutes, 59.4 seconds). (March 23, 1929)
•Alfred Edward Housman: English poet, most famous for poems of A Shropshire Lad (“When I Was One-and-Twenty”) (March 26, 1859)
•Sir Henry Royce: He was an English car designer and manufacturer who cofounded the Rolls-Royce Motor Company with C. S. Rolls. (March 27, 1863)
•Dr. Seuss (pen name): Born in America, this illustrator, poet, and author is best known as a writer of children’s books. Theodor Suess “Ted” Geisel (March 2, 1904)
•Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni: Italian Renaissance architect, poet, engineer, sculptor, who is probably best known for painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel (March 6, 1475)
•Albert Einstein: This physicist was born in Germany and is probably best remembered for his equation, “e=mc to the 2nd power.” (March 14, 1879) *Interesting note: supposedly had a date with Marilyn Monroe, as noted by an autographed photo of the movie star*
•Fred Rogers: Americanborn television host and Presbyterian Minister, probably best known for his signature show, Mister Rogers Neighborhood (March 20, 1928)
•Ron Howard: This noted actor and director may well be best remembered as “OPIE” from the Andy Griffith series. (March 1, 1954)
