An historic weather event occurred in Texas the week of February 14-19, 2021. Record setting low temperatures and actual snow fell in most of North Texas with the Forney area receiving a number of inches of snow and personal pictures normally seen in Colorado. Electricity distribution was endangered and water froze in pipes in extremely cold homes. But the Forney Family stepped up and volunteered to cook for families who had no power, bring firewood to help create warmth in people’s fireplaces, and transport those who had no other way to get to warmer accommodations.

This is the Forney that makes those of us here that work to give futures to all of the students and staff in Forney ISD proud of the ongoing donations that come to the Forney Education Foundation. As this week demonstrates, small things can add up to bigger things if the community works together. Even though there are smaller amounts of money for the Forney Family to donate, they, too, recognize that any amount from many donors can bring larger than expected results.

The Forney Education Foundation recognizes how tremendously caring the Community of Forney is when they have the proverbial two loaves of bread. FEF is fortunate to have many great examples of just how generous people can be when they realize how widereaching a donation can become when everyone works together in the interest of Forney ISD students.
