I may say that I am ready for Jesus to come for His Church of which I am a member, but deep down I sure enjoy my comfort zone. I am not so sure I am ready to face my judgment before the judgment seat of Jesus Christ. I know it will be far better after my judgment is over. I heard this story once and it started me to thinking. We have a natural fear of death but GOD gives us the grace to die.
Back in the dark ages when Christians were being burned at the stake for being witches. A certain lady was condemned to death by being burned at the stake. A friend of hers, “a Christian brother,” told her that God gives His children the grace to die when their time comes. He asked her to raise her hand at the point that grace came. As she was led to the platform to be burned when she reached the top of the platform she raised her hand. Joy came upon the man because he found out that the word was true. After that he did not have a great fear of death. The old nature was still there but he remembered what the Bible says about where is the victory of the grave and where is the sting of death. To me that story gives me a little peace even in the troubles we face today.
Jesus told His disciples to let their light shine before the world. I don’t think that included a long face filled with fear and dread. If people see a happy face and joy of living they will want to know why. That is the perfect time to tell them about GOD’S plan of salvation. That is our first duty in this life.
BOTTOM LINE: All Christians have been made stewards of the gospel of Jesus Christ. People that are saved are saved one at a time. When one person is saved, the Angels of Heaven rejoice. Think how wonderful Heaven will be when all the saints arrive. It boggles my brain……………AMEN
