Both of Forney ISD’s high school marching bands, the Forney High School Band and the Pride of Falcon Nation, represented the district in the UIL Region 3 Marching Contest recently. The competition was held at Mesquite Memorial Stadium on November 18. With near-perfect shows, the Falcons and the Jackrabbits each received first division ratings for their performances! Straight superior ratings from all judges also earned the Forney High School Band the ability to advance to the UIL Area C Championships on December 5th.

These students have all worked incredibly hard so far this year, and that diligence shows in their performances. In spite of the unusual circumstances this year, both marching bands have risen to the challenge and adapted to the new guidelines in place. COVID-19 restrictions caused a delayed start to the practice season, as well as the usual performances and competitions, causing less time for preparation before competition. Even with limited practice time and other various restrictions, both schools have persevered. Forney ISD commends the students, staff, and parents for their flexibility in an unprecedented season.

Through it all, both bands have put together outstanding shows this year. Congratulations to the Pride of Falcon Nation and the Forney High School Band!
