Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020—“Tarrant County Judge Glen Whitley is calling for the possible suspension of youth athletics as COVID-19 cases spike in North Texas,” according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, as reported in the Dallas Morning News.
“The Red Oak Volleyball Team cancelled the remainder of its season because of COVID-19 protocols,” according to the Ellis Countybased district confirmation, as reported by the DMN.
Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020—DMN reports that “Football teams in Texas are having to forfeit play-off games before the post-season begins. This was supposed to be a season that celebrated 100 years of U. I. L. football,” but “Exactly 100 regular season (football) games in the Dallas area have been cancelled or postponed.” “It’s a season where nothing was guaranteed, and still nothing is.”

The Forney Jackrabbits met up with the top of the heap Friday night and felt the sting, 63—10, in favor of the undefeated Ennis Lions, whose star quarterback threw for four touchdowns and a couple hundred yards, while the Rabbits were hurt by fumbles. Forney’s Jon’Richard Washington did rush well with more than 80 yards against stiff competition.
GOOD NEWS saved for last—North Forney Falcons remained UNDEFEATED by “schooling” a good Corsicana team in the two middle periods after both teams started slowly. *Falcons 0-28-14-0—42 over Tigers 0-0-0-0—0* North Forney led 1st downs 14—5 and passing yards 209—0. The game was virtually penalty free with a two-team total of 4 for 20 yards.
