Boy Scout Troop 339 recognized its most recent Eagle Scout, Peter Morgan, in an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony on October 25. Peter is the youngest of ten children of Frank & Dorothy Morgan of Forney.
For his Eagle Service Project, Peter directed his troop members in building a top-bar bee hive and 10 Mason bee hives which were donated to the Good Local Markets, a non-profit organization in east Dallas. The hives were used for a Pollinator Day educational activity then later sold, raising almost $1200 for the charitable organization.
During the ceremony, the Eagle Charge was delivered by his older brother Joseph Morgan, who earned his Eagle Scout from Troop 339 in 2012. Peter is the third son in his family to earn the honor of Eagle Scout from Troop 339.
Peter is a member of First Baptist Forney and his Sunday School teacher, Robert Dobbs, led the opening prayer and benediction.
Cody Craig presented Peter with a certificate on behalf of Texas State Representative Keith Bell and Peter received letters of commendation from Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn. Peter, 18, graduated as a home school student in June and is currently working for CJ&L Services in Forney.
