North Forney High School, like all districts in North Texas, has been faced with various challenges in this new COVID-19 era. But the real test of their resolve came when it was announced that the scheduled Homecoming football game against the Crandall High Pirates was canceled when Crandall’s team had to undergo quarantine. In “true north” fashion, though, the Falcons persevered and formulated a new plan to celebrate Homecoming and crown the 2020 Homecoming King and Queen. The week was filled with themed days and culminated with a HOCO Rally/Showcase Friday night at City Bank Stadium.
This year’s North Forney Homecoming Royalty consisted of 18 young men and women representing each class. The Freshmen Court included Jade Williams, Katie Chen, Ryler Ragan, Jessica Loren, and Amaya Young. The Sophomore Class was represented by Arlene Ibarra, Jamien Rooks, Lyric McClellan, Cahlia Hordge, Aaron Mendoza, and Michelle Rodriguez. Mariel Lamai, Tyler Tucker, Kendall Davis, and Alyssa Hood made up the Junior Court. Finally the Class of 2021’s Senior Queen and King Court was Makayla Hill, Nivin Sunesh, and Harley Mardis. The student body voted and, under the Friday Night Lights at the one-of-a-kind HOCO Rally/Showcase, Nivin Sunesh and Makayla Hill were crowned the 2020 Homecoming King and Queen.
Congratulations to all of this year’s Falcon Homecoming Court!
